Client Control
- Proposals. Detailed proposals are written so that clients know exactly what they will receive from the work before the project starts. A “draft” proposal will be followed by a revised version to take into account that client’s comments and suggestions. Any proposals are written on a no cost and no obligation basis.
- Daily progress. The interview transcripts are e-mailed every day. This allows clients to keep abreast of my progress and to have a continuing input as their projects proceed. For example, after reading a few interviews, a client may wish to fine-tune the questionnaire.
- Review. After e-mailing the first day’s work, no more work is completed until the client has the chance to review that work and to come back with any comments or suggestions. I only start work again with the client’s permission to do so.
- 2-day trial. If, after reading the first 2 day’s work, the client finds that the quality of work is not up to his or her expectations, they may terminate the work immediately. I make this offer with confidence because no client has ever cut short a project.
- Size of project. No client is ever tied into a specific project size in advance of my starting work. I give a range of fixed prices in my proposal dependent on the number of interviews completed. The client can decide how many interviews are required after reading the e-mailed interview transcripts.
- The final report. Before starting to write the final report, I always have a telephone conversation with the client to discuss my main conclusions.
- Client input is welcomed at every stage of a project.
